Hector is a Mexican-American photographer from East Palo Alto, California. he earned his BA in Visual Arts from Bowdoin College in 2016. the majority of his work is shot on roll film and printed on gelatin silver paper. his photographs and writing deal with themes of romance, remembrance, idealization and vulnerability. his work has been shown at Bowdoin College, New System Exhibitions, the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, and Dowling Walsh Gallery.

Hector is a co-founder and co-director of New System Exhibitions, an artist run exhibition space in Portland, ME. In August 2020, he self-published his first monograph, My Heart Burns There, Too.
he currently resides in Biddeford, Maine.
